Painting with Paper (Collage) Workshop

This workshop will cover the methods of adhering papers and/or other pieces of artwork to a firm backing, canvas or board.  Many of the supplies you may already have on hand…. old works on paper, decorative papers, gold/silver leaf, ribbon, fabric or other flat items which can be glued onto a flat surface (even flat metal objects, jewellery).  Botanicals if they are very dried out.  Recycle bits of art that “didn’t work”.  The possibilities are endless! The “glue” used is acrylic medium, which also seals the finished piece.

The materials list is:

-a 12″ square canvas or panel (or heavy watercolour paper)   painted a neutral colour or black (with acrylic paint)
– a cheap 2″ brush and acrylic medium (this is the “glue”)
– scissors
– any flat items, string, ribbon, decorative papers, pieces of artwork on paper, metal objects, buttons, fabrics, gold leaf and dried botanicals
